Every Presence Is a Present – A Poem on Gratitude and Letting Go

People will come

and go.

No one is steadfast

except that special someone.

But don't expect

people to stay.

Life is full of surprises—

unexpected gifts

and terrible betrayals.

But don't close your heart;

open wider,

be more fluid.

People come for a time

and leave for a time.

They're people,

not your property.

Every presence

is a present—

treat it as such.
